Check out some haunted places I’ve been to in my travels.
Ghouling around…

Lizzie Borden House, Fall River, MA
The Lizzie Borden House in Fall River, MA is a terribly haunted place. You can take a historical tour of where the grisly crime committed by her happened. Full disclosure, I and a few of my friends did a few years ago. Being a history buff, I am always drawn to these types of places. You can take a day tour or stay overnight (we weren’t that crazy). What’s even more interesting is that she was acquitted of killing her father and stepmother although there was overwhelming evidence that she did. The jury comprised of all men: they couldn’t fathom a woman committing such a horrible crime during that time era.

Hotel Monteleone, New Orleans, LA
New Orleans is my happy place. Hotel Monteleone is one of the oldest and haunted hotels in the French Quarter and United States. Ok yeah, I’ve stayed here several times. It’s just a gorgeous four star hotel. Think old French glamour. Too many ghost stories to count or tell and the staff there is well aware of the mischief. If you can’t stay there, at least stop by the Carousel Bar- it’s famous. If you’re lucky and get a reservation, go to Curio restaurant across the street for breakfast. Best French toast I ever ate in my life.

Andrew Jackson's Hermitage, Hermitage, TN
One thing I will say about the Heritage is that they do a great job of presenting a well balanced view of Andrew Jackson’s horrid policies toward Native Americans and slavery. When I toured there (and I tell you it was the HOTTEST day of my life when I did) I had the privilege of visiting slave quarters. I could definitely feel the heavy, oppressive energy in the room while I was attempting to honor my ancestors.
